A word from your MP
Dear residents,
I hope you had a chance to enjoy the long Victoria Day weekend, celebrated on May 19. It’s always a precious moment to relax, spend time with loved ones, and mark the arrival of summer in Canada.
Last Tuesday, Prime Minister Mark Carney appointed a new cabinet. I warmly congratulate all the ministers on their appointments. I look forward to working together to continue serving Canadians and building a stronger, more inclusive future. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for our country.

That same day, I had the privilege of joining the CSC Vanier team to celebrate 45 years of invaluable service in our community. Since its founding in 1980, CSC Vanier has been a true pillar, providing essential services such as food support, newcomer integration, and family assistance — always with compassion, vision, and dedication. Over the years, it has evolved while staying true to its mission: to build a strong, inclusive, and united community, and to improve the quality of life for Vanier residents and Francophones in Ottawa. Thank you to the entire team for your outstanding work!

In addition, last Friday, I had the honour of attending the inauguration of Kìwekì Point, formerly known as Nepean Point. This iconic location overlooking the Ottawa River has been redeveloped in collaboration with First Nations, notably the Anishinabeg, to reflect their presence and ancestral ties to the land. Kìwekì Point is now a space for gathering, reflection, and reconciliation, where heritage, culture, and nature meet. This landmark moment highlights the importance of continuing to build bridges between communities and honouring Indigenous voices in our public spaces.

That same day, I had the honour of being sworn in for a fourth term. It is a true privilege to have been re-elected to serve the residents of Ottawa–Vanier–Gloucester. I sincerely thank you for the trust you have placed in me. You can count on me to continue being a strong voice in the House of Commons, advocating for your priorities and moving forward on the issues that matter to our community.
I also want to express my deep gratitude to my family and loved ones for their unwavering love and support, as well as to my campaign team and all the volunteers who contributed to this great victory. Together, let’s keep building a better future for Ottawa–Vanier–Gloucester.

Over the long weekend, I had the great honour of being part of the Canadian delegation to the Vatican, where I attended the inaugural Mass of Pope Leo XIV. It was a profoundly moving and historic moment, marked by solemnity, spirituality, and the hope of a new chapter for the Catholic Church.
“Brothers and sisters, it is the hour of love. (…) Together, as one people, as brothers and sisters all, let us walk toward God and love one another.”
— Excerpt from the homily during the installation Mass of Pope Leo XIV.

The House of Commons resumes its work next Monday, May 26.
It is always an honour to return to the House of Commons to represent the people of Ottawa–Vanier–Gloucester. I will continue to work with determination to advance the priorities that matter most to our community: affordability, housing, a strong public service, and support for our youth and our seniors.
I also want to highlight the incredible success of the Ottawa Charge team, who made it all the way to the finals. Congratulations to the whole team on your outstanding performance! Go Charge Go — the entire city is behind you!
Finally, May 24 and 25 mark the 2025 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. I wish all runners great success in their races. A big thank you to the organizers, partners, and dedicated volunteers who make this event possible!
